Valencia full-back Aly Cissokho has told Le 10 Sport that he has agreed terms with Liverpool, but admits that a transfer is far from done.
The France international has been strongly linked with a switch to England for some time, and he is now ready to take on a Premier League challenge.
Liverpool have led the hunt for his services this summer and would appear to be closing on a top target - with the Reds favouring a loan move with the option for a permanent deal.
The 25-year-old believes that Valencia are keen to move him on, but concedes that an agreement must be reached with his prospective new employers before a transfer can be completed.
"Liverpool have made me an offer and it is true that I have reached an agreement with them," Cissokho said on Le 10 Sport.
"It is now up to the clubs to agree terms. I expect to know more later this week.
"If nothing happens this week, it probably means that I will not be going to Liverpool.
"The conditions of the transfer are the problem. Liverpool prefer a loan deal with an option to buy, while Valencia want to sell straight away.
"If the transfer doesn't take place, it's not a problem either. I am feeling well at Valencia."
