The future of Thomas Ince is in the balance after Blackpool accepted Cardiff's £8m bid for the England Under-21 winger. Although Paul Ince, Blackpool's manager and the player's father, has confirmed that the offer is on the table, he remains unsure whether his son will be leaving north-west England in the near future. "Cardiff have come in massively for Thomas and the chairman has accepted their offer," confirmed Ince senior, speaking from Blackpool's pre-season training camp in Portugal. "But Thomas has told me he's in no rush to leave the club. I think it's 50/50 at the moment. He loves it here. It's a tricky one for me - ideally you want your son to be playing in the Premier League but you also want him to be playing for you. I wouldn't put my hat on it that he'll be playing in the Premier League this year." Ince junior scored 18 goals in 44 Championship appearances last season, a creditable haul for a winger and has attracted interest from higher-profile Premier League clubs including Liverpool - where he began his career and, who, under the terms of his transfer to Blackpool, stand to benefit from a 35 per cent sell-on clause and have first refusal should they match any bid for him - and Newcastle United. There is a feeling at Bloomfield Road that Cardiff's move may serve to smoke out longstanding interest from Anfield and St James' Park in the 21-year-old this summer and, even if nothing happens in the next couple of months, it could suit Blackpool, and Ince senior, to keep the club's most talented player until January at the earliest. Even so, Paul Ince may be left in an awkward position should his board decide Cardiff's £8m offer is simply too lucrative to resist. Ben Davies reckons Swansea skipper Ashley Williams is worth every penny of his £10million price tag. But the Wales defender has urged his team-mate for club and country to turn down interest from Arsenal and Liverpool. Williams, 28, extended his contract to 2015 last October. And Swansea are determined to cash-in on their captain if he decides to move after five successful seasons at the Liberty Stadium. Davies said: "A price of £10million for Ash is completely justified when you see some of the money being spent, especially on foreign players who are unproven in the Premier League. "That would be a fair price but it would still be a massive loss for us. "Last season he was one of the best centre-halves in the league, especially when you consider the team he is in and doesn't have the very best midfielders in front of him helping out." Swansea have already brought in Spain Under-21 defender Jordi Amat from Espanyol. But 20-year-old Davies admits it would be a major blow to lose a player who has been key to his emergence with Swansea and Wales. Davies said: "Ash has had a big influence on me. He gave me a lot of confidence on the pitch and made the transition from Swansea to Wales very easy for me. "If we do lose him to a bigger team then we will have to adapt pretty quickly. Aston Villa are targeting Belgium player Nacer Chadli as a new way of trying to keep Christian Benteke. Villa have joined a host of clubs chasing FC Twente winger Chadli, who only has a year left to run on his contract. And Villa hope that if they could sign Chadli it may help convince Benteke to stay at least another year. Fulham, Tottenham, Liverpool and West Brom have also been tracking Chadli, who scored 16 goals for Twente last season. Although Chadli has played on the wing for Twente, Lambert wants a creative spark to play in the hole and would consider moving the 23-year-old inside. Lambert may also need to start moving on unwanted high-earners Darren Bent, Shay Given and Stephen Ireland before ­launching a firm bid. Ben Davies believes Swansea's £10million valuation of Ashley Williams is more than justified. Williams has been heavily linked with summer moves to Liverpool or Arsenal, although Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins has stated the club have not received any offers for their defensive lynchpin. Williams is under contract at the Liberty Stadium until the summer of 2015 and Swansea are understandably keen to hold on to the 28-year-old, who has regularly captained the side since their promotion to the Premier League. Arsenal were considered favourites to secure the signature of the Wales captain, but reports have suggested the Gunners have baulked at the asking price for Williams. But left-back Davies, who flourished playing alongside his international skipper last season, believes the required fee should come as little surprise. He said: 'Last season I would say Ash was one of the best centre-halves in the Premier League, I cannot think of many who were better than him. The job he did was incredible. 'A price of £10million or more to sign him is completely justified. 'You see some of the money that gets spent in this league on players who are unproven in the Premier League. I think £10million is more than a fair price.' Swansea have strengthened their defensive ranks with the acquisition of Jordi Amat from Espanyol in a £2.5million deal, but Davies believes it is vital they manage to hang on to Williams. He said: 'You could see last season how good he was for us and he would be a massive loss. 'At the moment he is still a Swansea player and hopefully that will stay the same, but if he does leave for another club we will have to adapt quickly. 'We have Jordi Amat coming in as a new signing and hopefully he can be as good as, if not better than, him if it comes down to it.' He added: 'Ash gave me a lot of confidence on the pitch and the transition from Swansea to playing for Wales was made a lot easier as I played with him every week. 'He is a great player and a great captain, he is always there to talk to, and if you have to say something he is happy to take it.' Liverpool could still hijack Cardiff's signing of Tom Ince after Blackpool accepted the Premier League newcomers' bid for their star winger. The Anfield club have until this afternoon to match Cardiff's bid of around £8m plus add-ons, which Pool accepted on Saturday. Under the terms of the deal when Ince joined Pool from Liverpool two years ago, the Merseysiders have 48 hours to match any bid accepted for the 21-year-old. Even if the Reds don't block Cardiff's move, Pool manager Paul Ince says it is far from certain that his son will join the Welsh club. The Seasiders boss confirmed: "Cardiff have come in massively for Thomas and the chairman has accepted their offer. "When he comes back (next Monday), we'll sit down and see what we want to do. He loves it here and has told me he's in no rush to leave the club." The Blackpool manager is keen to see his son move to the right club and a switch to Cardiff is by no means a done deal. Ince senior added: "I think it's 50/50 at the moment if he'll stay or not. It's a tough one for me. I want my son playing in the Premier League but I also want him here playing for me. "He'll be back in with us on July 8." The manager flew back with the rest of the Pool squad late last night from their training camp in Portugal. Tom Ince was excused the trip in order to rest after playing for England in last month's European U21 Championships in Israel. He fired 18 goals for the Seasiders last term and speculation about his future has been rife for months. Ince is one of only 13 senior professionals currently on Pool's books. Former Liverpool defender Danny Wilson will remain at crisis-hit Hearts. The Tynecastle club have received confirmation that signing the 21-year-old would not breach their registration embargo. Wilson had agreed a three-year deal with Hearts following a loan move from Liverpool last season. Wilson was still on loan to Hearts until June 30 and the ban, imposed after the club entered administration, applies only to new players. Liverpool FC continue to search for reinforcements at centre-half - but Paris Saint-Germain's Mamadou Sakho is not on the club's wanted list. Reds manager Brendan Rodgers is hoping to bolster his options in the position following the retirement of Jamie Carragher. Liverpool will today formally complete the free transfer of former Arsenal and Manchester City man Kolo Toure but the club are keen to add another player to their numbers at the back. Sakho, a France international, says he has been "flattered" by Liverpool's apparent interest, but the ECHO understands the club are not targeting the 23-year-old. Rodgers is also understood to have cooled interest in Swansea City captain Ashley Williams despite the interest earlier in the summer. Reports continue to link the Reds with a move for the Wales captain, valued at £10m by the Swans, but their focus has moved to other targets. And Sakho is not among them despite being quoted as saying Liverpool have expressed an interest in securing his services. "I'll be able to talk with the new coach and see what he thinks," Sakho is reported to have said. "I am flattered by the interest of historic clubs like Liverpool and AC Milan. We will see what happens in the near future." Hopes of landing Schalke defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos appear to have faded with the two clubs apart in their valuation of the Greek centre-half. Liverpool do remain in negotiations with Sporting Lisbon over the transfer of Tiago Ilori, although they had hoped a deal would have been finalised by now for the Portugal under-20s player. Toure, meanwhile, has received a ringing endorsement from a former Manchester City team-mate who believes he will prove a hit at Liverpool. "Kolo will be a great signing. I think it's an astute signing by Brendan Rodgers because he has got so much experience," Gareth Barry said. "He will always give 100 per cent, he will never give up. Kolo will win over the fans straight away. "Losing Jamie Carragher's experience from the dressing room will be a huge loss for Liverpool and the fans.
