Swansea defender Ashley Williams may be available for a summer transfer, with both Liverpool and Arsenal keen on the star.

Brendan Rodgers is keen to link up with one of his former Swansea stars, as the Reds prepare for life after Jamie Carragher.

Liverpool will be hoping that Swansea will reduce the price, as Arsenal are ready to swoop in for one of Swansea's stand out players.

Arsene Wenger is looking for a replacement for Thomas Vermaelen, as the Arsenal skipper has really struggled for form this campaign, which has led to the Belgian being linked with a move away from the Gunners, with both Barcelona and Manchester United said to be interested.

Swansea boss Michael Laudrup is fully aware of the interest from both Liverpool and Arsenal.

He told reporters: "There has been a lot of talk and let's see what happens.

"He extended his contract not so long ago, like I did.

"Maybe we have to accept one player will go but not any more. We have to strengthen to consolidate because a lot of the teams below us in the table will spend more money.

"Those sums are above what we pay so we have to do things in different ways.

"There is a lot of work to do this summer. One thing is to find them and another to then go and sign them."
