Feyenoord defender Stefan de Vrij has signed a new deal with the Eredivisie club.
According to talkSPORT, the 21-year-old Dutch international is a reported transfer target for Liverpool and Manchester United but the club have now confirmed he has committed until 2015.
His previous contract expired next summer.
"It makes me happy to know I can continue to be part of this team and club for longer. I can see the potential here and of course I am pleased that Jordy [Clasie] remains for longer here too," de Vrij said.
The youngster has made only seven starts in the Dutch top flight this season, with one goal to his name. Overall, this season, he has nine starts, including one in the Europa League.
According to the Mail, de Vrij was personally scouted by Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers, in February, and has also attracted attention from local rivals Everton and north London side Tottenham.
Meanwhile, de Vrij's team mate, midfielder Jordy Clasie has also opted to turn down interest from the Premier League, at least for the foreseeable future, and sign an extension.
The 21-year-old defensive player was connected with a move to one of United, Arsenal or Tottenham.Clasie, known as the "Dutch Xavi", has signed till the summer of 2016.
He said: "It means a lot to me to play for Feyenoord. I have played for this club for 14 years now, including two years in the senior team. It has been fantastic and I am really enjoying myself."
