Napoli have had a second bid for Liverpool target Martin Montoya turned down by Barcelona, according to sources in Italy.
Rafa Benitez is desperate to bring his compatriot to the Stadio San Paolo and is considering making a third offer before the end of the week.
Montoya is yet to appear for Barcelona in the league this season but he is viewed as a possible long-term replacement for Brazil international Dani Alves.
As such, the La Liga champions do not want to lose their academy graduate, but it remains to be seen whether they will resist another offer from the Italian side.
Liverpool have been linked with the 22-year-old over the past year but have failed to firm up their interest with an offer.
