Tottenham Hotspur have stated their intent towards Ajax midfielder Christian Eriksen with an £8 million bid, but there remains a huge disparity still to overcome. While Spurs are one of the few European clubs to make an offer, the Dutch champions have their hearts set on £15 million. According to Dutch daily de Telegraaf, the bid was made to kick-start negotiations, keeping in mind the interest from Liverpool and clubs in Russia. It remains to be seen if Spurs will come up with a better offer, or if Liverpool will take the opportunity to put in their valuation.
