Xabi Alonso has insisted he will be staying in the Spanish capital with Real Madrid this summer. Alonso has been rumoured to be considering an emotional return to Liverpool, with his current contract at Real Madrid set to expire at the end of next season. Chelsea were also thought to be in the running to bring the Spaniard back to England after reports tipped Jose Mourinho to take Alonso with him to Chelsea. However, after Madrid battered Malaga 6-2 at the Bernabeu last night, the 31-year-old moved to dispel concerns he was set to leave the Spanish capital. "Of course I'm going to be here next season," said Alonso. "It's important to maintain good feelings, with an important match coming up next week," he continued. "We're mentally prepared for the cup final, it will be a tough match. It's a clear objective, one we can achieve this year and nothing else can distract us. We all have to pull in the same direction." Real Madrid take on local rivals Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey final on Friday May 17.
