Colombian hot-shot Jackson Martinez has rejected the chance to move to Russia - and that could open the door for a move to Liverpool or Manchester United. The striker, 26, has had a superb debut season with Porto, netting 25 goals in 28 league games, and his form has alerted some of Europe's big spenders, with Galatasaray, Liverpool, United and several Russian sides keen to prise him away from the Portuguese club. But according to Portuguese newspaper A Bola, Martinez has rejected overtures from Russia on the basis of sporting reasons. Anzhi Makhachkala had been willing to pay £24m to land him in the summer, although that figure falls short of his £38m release clause fee. Martinez is the latest in a long line of South American strikers to shine at Porto, with his compatriot Radamel Falcao and Brazil star Hulk among his predecessors at the Portuguese club.
