Ajax have denied that they have an agreement in place to sell Christian Eriksen to Liverpool at the end of the season.

The Danish international is a target for both Reds boss Brendan Rodgers and Spurs chief Andre Villas-Boas and he looks almost certain to leave Amsterdam this summer after indicating he would not sign a new contract extension.

Ajax do not want Eriksen to leave on a free when his contract expires next summer so they are likely to be open to offers, with the playmaker valued around the £12m mark, but the Dutch giants have denied a deal is in place with Liverpool.

Press spokeswoman Eefje Schepenkring said "We will send out a press release when there is an agreement. Also if there is only a deal between Ajax and the club. So at this time there is no agreement between Ajax and Liverpool."

Eriksen has previously stated that he wants to play Champions League football so he may wait until the summer before deciding on his next move.
