Liverpool are closing in on Luis Alberto's signature after Sevilla confirmed they have received an Anfield offer for the attacker. The 20-year-old looks set to become Brendan Rodgers' third signing of what's gearing up to be a busy summer of transfers for the Reds boss. The versatile Alberto, who can play in midfield or up front, impressed on loan with Barcelona B last term, netting 11 times for the Catalans' reserves. It is believed Liverpool have offered around £6million for his services but Sevilla's director of football, Ramon Verdejo, indicated the Andalusians are holding out for more. Verdejo said: 'Is it a good deal to sell him for the figures they speak of? The offer we have on the table is a very good one with respect to where Luis is currently. 'We don't know what will happen in the future. To date, we haven't accepted the offer.' Kolo Toure has already arrived at Liverpool from Manchester City and the Reds have agreed a move in principle for Celta Vigo's Iago Aspas. The completion of deals for Sunderland goalkeeper Simon Mignolet, Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Sporting Lisbon defender Tiago Ilori are also thought to be close.
