Jordan Henderson has been told he will mature into a Liverpool star of the future if he keeps churning out high quality performances.
Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers dished out the praise after Henderson turned in another dashing display during the 2-2 draw at Newcastle.
It has taken time for the 23-year-old, signed from Sunderland for around £20million in June 2011, to procure his best form for the Merseyside club but Rodgers is delighted with his recent application.
He believes fans are now starting to see why so much was invested in Henderson and said: 'He's an outstanding young player. I think he is going to be a top player over many years for Liverpool.
'He will be an unsung hero. He is one of those guys who does a lot of work and over time, supporters will really appreciate and I think that's what's happening now.
'I have been really impressed. Tactically his understanding of the game is improving - you see the composure he is playing with now.
