Derby are determined to keep hold of midfield ace Will Hughes in January and have slapped a £12million fee on the Liverpool target. Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has been monitoring Hughes's progress for the past 18 months and he is prepared to make a move but the Championship club want to keep him until the end of the season at least and have put a big price tag on him. The England U21 star is also wanted by Manchester United and Arsenal but Liverpool are thought to lead the chase for the highly-rated 18-year-old but will only make a move in the New Year if one of their rivals does the same, otherwise Rodgers will leave it until the summer.
