Liverpool are on the verge of completing a deal to bring Celta Vigo striker Iago Aspas to Anfield, and Sporting Lisbon's Tiago Ilori could soon be joining him on Merseyside.
The Reds agreed a fee in the region of £6million for 25-year-old Aspas last week and the forward has now agreed personal terms with the club, according to the Liverpool Echo.
However, Liverpool are also negotiating a deal for young Sporting centre-back Ilori as they continue their summer rebuilding.
Brendan Rodgers has already brought Kolo Toure to Anfield on a free transfer from Manchester City in an attempt to add experience to the team following the retirement of Jamie Carragher.
Aspas will fly to England for a medical as soon as the remaining details of the transfer have been finalised and he is expected to be announced a Liverpool player within 48 hours.
The 25-year-old scored 12 goals in 34 appearances for Celta Vigo last season.
