Croatia international Ivan Rakitic has told his current club they must bolster their squad this summer or he is ready to leave the Liga outfit, with a potential move to Anfield on the cards.

The Sevilla midfielder has told the club he will leave if they don't buy some quality players this summer, with Liverpool signalling interest.

The Liga outfit have already sold winger Jesus Navas to Manchester City while star striker Alvaro Negredo is also expected to leave the Roman Sanchez Pizjuan Stadium.

The Croatia international has warned his employers that he too will look for a move, with Liverpool a possible destination, if they do not replace their outgoing talent during the summer transfer window.

"I'm really flattered that I'm being linked with such a big club like Liverpool," Rakitic told 24sata.

"I heard that something is happening, but for now there is no concrete offer.

"My brother, who is taking care of my career, is doing all the business about my future.

"But I will repeat what I said before: I will only stay at Sevilla if they will strengthen the team.

"I made it quite clear about that and they know that they have to buy some good players."

The 25-year-old scored 13 goals in 81 appearances for the Spanish outfit in two seasons after joining from Schalke on 2011.
