Some of the greatest names in Liverpool's history will be on show when their Legends side meets their Kaizer Chiefs counterparts at Moses Mabhida Stadium on November 16.

The likes of former defender Phil Neal, who won an astonishing 22 medals during his time at Anfield, former Kop favorite and England international John Barnes, twin strike sensations John Aldridge and Robbie Fowler, as well as Durban-born goalkeeper Bruce Grobbelaar are just some of the top names set for the match.

"We have always enjoyed fantastic support in South Africa, where Liverpool is as loved as anywhere else in the world," Barnes says.

"It will be an honour for us to play in front of these passionate fans and show some of the skills that have not only won us many trophies, but millions of friends around the world too.

"We have a great respect for the Kaizer Chiefs club, who are South Africa's most successful ever team and themselves are known around the world. They too have had many great players down the years and we look forward to locking horns with them."

Chiefs will be able to call upon some of the top names in their history such as ex-playmaker Doctor Khumalo, defender Lucas Radebe, midfield maestro John 'Shoes' Moshoeu and Afcon-winning captain Neil Tovey.

"We have had some great players in our history and for those that never saw them play in their prime, this will be a wonderful opportunity to show the younger fans the skills that made these players such legends," Khumalo says.

The match will be the culmination of a three-day tour for the Reds, with a golf day, gala dinner and autograph-signing sessions included in their itinerary.
