Liverpool have agreed a loan deal for Benfica's Lorenzo Melgarejo as they look to strengthen their left-back options. Brendan Rodgers said while Liverpool were in Australia that he wanted to bring in another left-back, as he only has Jose Enrique and England U21 international Jack Robinson for that position. And the Liverpool manager has turned to Melgarejo, a Paraguay international who played for Benfica in their Europa League final defeat against Chelsea. A season-long deal has been agreed, pending a work permit. However, that is by no means a formality as the 22-year-old only has one full international cap.
