Liverpool have made a second approach for Newcastle midfielder Hatem Ben Arfa, according to French newspaper L'Equipe. Reds boss Brendan Rodgers has been a long-term admirer of the 26-year-old and is believed to have sounded out Newcastle over a possible move earlier this year. Liverpool cooled their interest in the Frenchman earlier this summer as they prioritised the signing of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, but the Armenia international's decision to join Borussia Dortmund has left Rodgers needing to find a new playmaker instead. And the Northern Irishman, who has already added Iago Aspas and Luis Alberto to his attacking options, has now returned with a fresh approach for Ben Arfa.
