Ibrahim Afellay's hopes of a move to England have been rocked by injury. The Barcelona winger has long been linked with a switch to the Premier League, with the likes of Tottenham and Liverpool said to be keen. Both clubs courted the Holland international in 2011 but he chose to leave PSV for Barcelona. Injuries have hampered his time in Spain, though, and after recovering from a knee problem he was loaned to Schalke in 2013. Another loan was mooted for the new season but his agent Rob Jansen has revealed the 27-year-old has suffered a setback. "He had a relapse. It's a serious blow. It will take more weeks than expected for him to be fit again," Jansen told AD. "Because of the injury, the chance he can leave on loan has become very small now, that's how it works."
