Atletico Madrid have had a bid rejected for Ajax star Toby Alderweireld, according to reports in Belgium. The 24-year-old has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs this summer, including Norwich, Tottenham and Liverpool, but he is yet to secure a move away from the Dutch capital. He's also courted interest from Russian giants Zenit St Petersburg and Spartak Moscow, but he could be on his way to Spain. Atletico have had an initial offer for the Belgium defender turned down, with Ajax seeking a fee in the region of £6.4m for the player who is out of contract next summer. Alderweireld has previously expressed a desire to join a Champions League club and Atletico will be participating in Europe's top competition this season.
