Red Bull Salzburg defender Martin Hinteregger has confirmed that Manchester United are interested in signing him.
The 21-year-old is also being tracked by Arsenal, Liverpool and Juventus after impressing in the Austrian Bundesliga.
And now the player himself had thrown Manchester United's name into the mix, saying he is flattered by their attentions.
He is quoted by TuttoJuve.com as saying: "I confirm, there is interest in me from Manchester United and a top Italian club. "I am honoured, I honestly did not expect that.
And while the youngster claims he is in no hurry to move, he suggests the interest is sufficient for him to have discussions with his agent about the possibility of a move.
He added: "Actually my goal is to stay here, but in any case I will talk to my agent and consider whether a transfer might be beneficial.
"United have been linked with a number of defenders with both Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand already in the last year of their current contracts.
And it now seems that David Moyes is keeping a close eye on Hinteregger as he begins to usher in a new era at Old Traffford.
