AC Milan have joined Liverpool among the growing pack of clubs interested in Paris St-Germain playmaker Javier Pastore.
Brendan Rodgers is on the hunt for a new creative midfielder after missing out on Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Willian in the sumemr, and Pastore is believed to be one of his main targets for the January transfer window.
But Rodgers faces a fight, as AC Milan are keen to take the former Palermo man back to Italy.
Pastore's displays in a two-season spell at Palermo earned him a £37m move to PSG in 2011, and although he has impressed in spells, his future in the French capital has been subject to speculation in recent weeks.
He has started only five of PSG's eight league fixtures this term and failed to make Laurent Blanc's match-day squad for their opening Champions League group stage match against Olympiacos.
Arsenal were also tracking the 24-year-old - they are thought to have submitted a deadline day enquiry to PSG - but their interest has cooled after signing Mesut Ozil from Real Madrid, while Chelsea have also been linked with him in the past.
