Ashley Williams has no intentions of bidding farewell to Swansea City in the summer, the player's agent has revealed.
The Welsh international is rumoured to be on the wish-list of Arsenal and Liverpool, as both the clubs look to strengthen their porous defence once the season winds up.
Brendan Rodgers, the Liverpool manager, is seeking to land in a replacement for the veteran Jamie Carragher who is set to call it quits to his Anfield career at the end of the term.
Having worked for almost two years with Williams at the Liberty Stadium, Rodgers knows all about the qualities and traits of the defender, and feels that the 28-year-old can make a seamless transition from Swansea to Liverpool.
Wenger has defensive plans of his own. Rumours have appeared that the Gunners boss is weighing up the option of bringing the Welshman to the Emirates Stadium to strengthen a defence which has been guilty of shipping too many goals.
However, the player's representative, Jamie Moralee, has claimed that his client is not interested in pursuing a career outside of Swansea in the coming transfer window.
He said: "What I can say is that my player has got no desire to leave Swansea City Football Club.
"There have been stories linking Ash with clubs for the past few years, but his situation now is no different from his situation over the past few years.
"Ash has always remained a Swansea City player. He is happy there, his family are there with him and he is playing better than ever because Swansea have given him a platform."
Williams signed a new contract with Swansea in the autumn, tying him up with the South Wales club until 2005. He lifted the Capital One Cup as the Swansea captain in February, the club's first major trophy in their 100-year history.
