Liverpool have opened talks with Sunderland over the £9million signing of Belgium goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.
Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers is a fan of the 25-year-old and has made a move for the Stadium of Light star.
Sunderland won't allow their player of the year to leave cheaply, especially knowing Arsenal are also interested.
Mignolet has two years of his contract to run and would like a move as he battles to be No.1 in his national side with Chelsea's on-loan Thibaut Courtois.
Sunderland will look to promote Republic of Ireland keeper Keiren Westwood, who has had a frustrating time since moving to Wearside from Coventry.
Liverpool are also trailing Shakhtar Donetsk forward Henrikh Mkhitaryan, who has a £20m price tag.
Rodgers wants to pair the Armenian, who scored 25 goals in the Ukrainian league last season, with Luis Suarez.
