Everton boss Roberto Martinez is said to be in a three-way fight with neighbours Liverpool and favourites Arsenal for Ashley Williams.
The Welsh skipper is looking to move on from Swansea in order to fulfill his ambition of playing at the highest level possible and there are a queue of clubs willing to land the 28-year-old.
Everton boss Martinez bought Williams from Stockport for Swansea so he knows all about his abilities and will be hoping that helps in his favour when it comes to a move.
Reds boss Brendan Rodgers also knows him from his time at Swansea so he too is confident of landing him, but Arsenal may trump them all as Arsene Wenger is said to be at the front of the queue.
