Liverpool have received encouragement in their pursuit of Verona's Jorginho after the club put a £7m price-tag on him. Brendan Rodgers is a fan of the creative midfielder and is ready to step up his interest this week. Jorginho, capped at Under-21 level by Italy, is of Brazilian origin but has chosen to represent the Azzurri at international level. The 21-year-old is a highly rated prospect and Verona fear they could lose him - and their valuation of £7m is unlikely to put Rodgers off making a bid.
