Xabi Alonso has firmly dismissed reports he could be set for a return to the Premier League with either Chelsea or Liverpool. Both clubs have been linked with the Real Madrid man over the past few weeks, with Liverpool reportedly keen to bring their former player back to Anfield and Jose Mourinho said to be interested in linking up with the midfielder again. Alonso spent five years on Merseyside between August 2004 and August 2009, during which time he became one of the most highly-rated midfielders in the Premier League.
