Reds boss Brendan Rodgers had looked favourite to land the Brazilian winger with some suggestions that a fee and a deal had been agreed for the 25-year-old. The latest reports from Russia suggest Spurs may have jumped to the head of the queue by making a £30m offer to Anzhi Makhachkala for his services.
