Despite reports of a late hitch, Celta Vigo forward Iago Aspas is set to finalise his £7.7m move to Liverpool this week.
There had been claims that Spanish club Valencia were set to make a late move to try and pinch the 25-year-old from under the noses of the Reds, but that has turned out not to be the case.
It was claimed that there were problems with agents' fees and that had lead to the rumours that Valencia were set to step in and steal him. That has turned out to be inaccurate and the wrangle was about an outstanding bonus he was due from Celta Vigo after the Spaniard helped them avoid relegation from La Liga on the final day of the season.
The left-footed striker is now expected to complete his move this week and will become the second signing of the summer for Brendan Rodgers after Kolo Toure agreed a deal and will join in July.
