Liverpool FC transfer target Hatem Ben Arfa is to be offered a new contract at Newcastle in order to ward off Reds interest. Brendan Rodgers is reportedly a keen admirer of Ben Arfa and would be willing to make a move in the January transfer window. Ben Arfa is currently contracted to Newcastle until the end of next season, but there has been growing interest in his services. Liverpool were strongly linked with a bid during the summer, and are thought to consider him an option for January, while PSG are also admirers. Meanwhile, Barcelona youngster Cristian Tello has revealed he rejected advances from Liverpool this summer, instead opting to fight for his place at the Nou Camp.
