Liverpool face competition from Merseyside rivals Everton in the race to land Derby star Will Hughes, after both clubs dispatched scouts to watch the midfielder in action.
The Reds are leading the chase for Hughes, and are expected to make another bid for the 18-year-old in January after targeting him during the summer transfer window.
However, Brendan Rodgers faces a threat from Roberto Martinez for Hughes, with the Everton boss sending two scouts to watch him star for the Rams against Bolton.
Derby earned a 2-2 draw at the Reebok, with Hughes contributing an assist before limping off in the second half.
