Liverpool are close to agreeing a transfer for defender Tiago Ilori, with reports in Portugal stating that a deal worth a minimum of £3.8million will take the English-born defender to Anfield.
Negotiations were prolonged but Liverpool are believed to have fought off late but serious interest from Valencia to secure the centre-back.
Meanwhile, Celta Vigo forward Iago Aspas is this afternoon involved in meetings between the club and his representatives to try and finalise his exit from the Galician outfit.
As we exclusively revealed back in May, the Reds had made Aspas a primary target this summer and personal terms were agreed last week.
The player is set on his inevitable move to Anfield but a deal insider told MirrorFootball today: "It is still not confirmed.
"There is nearly an agreement between clubs, but it will be a little bit longer yet."
Leaving Liverpool is Hungarian goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi.
Third-choice goalkeeper Peter Gulacsi has opted to join Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg, where he impressed during a trial in the spring.
"We have signed a goalkeeper in Peter Gulacsi that will further improve our quality," said Sporting Director Ralf Rangnick.
"He was here for a three-day trial where we watched him very closely and put him through his paces physically.
"We are convinced that he has great potential."
