Barcelona will ward off interest in Liverpool target Martin Montoya by offering the youngster a new deal.
The 22-year-old, who was developed at the La Liga champions' famed La Masia academy, is out of contract next June and had been tipped to move to the Premier League.
But the Camp Nou giants want him to challenge Dani Alves for a first-team place over the coming seasons and are poised to hand him a new contract.
The right-back, who made 15 league appearances last season, was also tracked by Bayer Leverkusen, who are seeking a replacement for Dani Carvajal.
Montoya was part of Spain's victorious U21 Championship-winning squad in Israel last month where he appeared in four matches, including their 4-2 victory over Italy in the final.
