LIVERPOOL appear on the verge of signing Greek defender Kyriakos Papadopoulos. Reports in Greece suggest that the Anfield club have already agreed a fee with Schalke for the player and a move has only been delayed by the player's recovery from a serious knee injury. Papadopoulos has been a long-term target for Liverpool, with the player present at the club's match against Fulham at the end of last season, and there are even rumours that a £13m fee may have been agreed for some time. Greek newspaper Sport Day are reporting that Liverpool could be set to announce the move when they arrive back from their pre-season trip to Thailand. Papadopoulos has reportedly advised Liverpool that he is now sufficiently fit to undergo a medical and hopes to travel to England for that purpose on August 10.
