Udinese starlet Luis Muriel's agent insists he has had "no contact with English clubs" despite reports of Liverpool's interest.

The Colombian has scored 13 goals in 25 games for the Friulani, catching the eye of some top clubs, including Liverpool.

"Muriel is a player of talent and potential, so I think it is normal that big clubs should follow him carefully," agent Helmut Wennin told calcionews24.

"However, I have had no contact with any English clubs regarding the future of Luis. I haven't had official contact with Italian sides either, but I don't know if the Pozzo family has discussed the situation.

"Udinese and the Pozzo family represent a fundamental step in Muriel's career and were very important in his growth process as a player and a man.

"Now Luis is focused on the current season, as he wants to do well in order to earn his spot in the Colombia squad.

"He has an excellent rapport with Francesco Guidolin and respects all his decisions for the good of the team. He knows that he is an important player for the club and has faith in his own capabilities."

The agent was asked whether Muriel would consider moving on next summer if an impressive proposal were to arrive.

"Yes, his objective is to play for a top club, I'd say that is normal. He will work hard to improve and one day maybe test himself in one of the biggest clubs in the world."
