Express: Sami hoping for a 4-1 repeat

Sami Hyypia hopes his first visit to Old Trafford as a manager is a happy one - after experiencing the highs and lows there as a player.

The Bayer Leverkusen manager's final game there for Liverpool was a memorable 4-1 win over United in their backyard in March 2009 when the two teams were involved in a tight battle for the Premier League title.

It was the third time Hyypia had tasted victory for Liverpool at United, but he also recalled the occasion he was red-carded after only three minutes for a professional foul on Ruud van Nistelrooy - and had to watch as his teammates lost 4-0.

He said: "The 4-1 win is the first thought that comes to my mind when I think of Old Trafford. That day was special and I managed to play well too, so I am happy for that.

"But I also remember when I got sent off and watched the rest of the game from the dressing room. We lost 4-0 and that was my only red card, so those things you always remember."

Hyypia insists he will not be fooled into thinking United will be an easy touch following Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement.

United have failed to score from open play in their past three matches but Hyypia said: "I don't thinks it's the first time United have started the season slowly. Everyone should give David Moyes a bit more time to get things running.

"Hopefully it doesn't happen against us. Hopefully we can give them enough problems so they can't get their rhythm in the game . "
