Martin Montoya's agent has ruled out his client quitting Barcelona in January, but held the door open for the right-back to leave the Camp Nou on a free transfer next summer.

The Spaniard's current contract at Barcelona expires in 2014 and his agent has already warned La Liga's champions that it will be difficult for Montoya to pen an extension if he is not playing on a regular basis.

A number of clubs are alive to the defender's situation in Spain, including English pair Liverpool and Manchester United, German outfits Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Dortmund, and Italian sides Inter and Napoli.

But, Montoya will not be moving on in January, his agent says, appearing to end any prospect of a transfer battle for the right-back at the start of 2014.

"At the moment Montoya is a Barcelona player and he is focused on his team's season", Jose Maria Orobitg told Panorama.

"Montoya's contract is due to expire in 2014, we are talking with Barcelona, the renewal could happen, but as I said, he could also take another path.

"For next season nothing is granted and Martin could leave on a free transfer if he finds little [playing] space.

"But he will definitely stay at Barcelona until the end of the season."
