Liverpool academy director Frank McParland has praised Harry Wilson for his commitment after the teenager became Wales' youngest international.
Aged just 16 years and 207 days, Wilson also became the club's youngest ever player to gain international honours when he came on as a late substitute in Wales' 1-1 draw against Belgium.
And McParland believes the teenager is benefitting from his professional approach to the game and his down-to-earth attitude.
"He's very level-headed and he's got lovely parents who trust us in everything we do for him but the bottom line is the boy is very focused," McParland told Sky Sports.
"We're delighted for him and the parents. Harry has been with us since around seven years of age and he has been here working very hard every night.
"He's back here now and he'll be champing at the bit to play for the U18s on Saturday. I'm 100 per cent sure of that."
Wrexham-born Wilson was also eligible to play for England through one of his grandparents but Wales appear to have moved swiftly to secure the youngster's services.
"Is Harry ready for first-team international football for Wales? Probably not," McParland added. "There are various reasons behind why he played and all we can do is support that.
"He needs to try and get into a very good U21 side for Liverpool - that has to be his next goal and then we'll see what happens.
"But he's a very talented and focused boy so I don't think we will have a problem with him in terms of keeping his feet on the ground."
