Rafael Benitez is hoping to beat former club Liverpool in the race to land Martin Montoya. The Reds are keen on a deal for the Barcelona right-back and, as talkSPORT told you on Thursday, are set to offer him a pre-contract in January. Bayer Leverkusen and Bayern Munich are both also interested in landing the 22-year-old, who is out of contract at the Nou Camp in the summer. But now, according to Italian newspaper Il Mattino, Napoli boss Benitez is ready to make his move. It has been reported the Serie A side are lining up a five-year contract offer worth around £50,000 a week. If he agrees to the terms, Montoya could commit his future to Napoli in the New Year and join them when his deal at Barca expires in June.
