Liverpool are considering a January swoop for forgotten Manchester City striker John Guidetti. The 21-year-old, who has been battling injuries and illness in the last 18 months, has now fully recovered after having knee surgery in the summer. But after Manuel Pellegrini warned him this week that he will struggle to get into the City side, Guidetti looks all but certain to leave in the new year. Liverpool are known to be the front runners for his signature, having followed him since his loan spell at Feyenoord in 2012, where he scored 20 times in 23 matches. French money bags Monaco and Turkish outfit Trabzonspor are also in the race, but staying in the Premier League is the priority for Guidetti. Liverpool are committed to bringing through young talent and with Guidetti able to play up front or on the wing, he offers real versatility for Brendan Rodgers.
