Everton are trying to complete a loan move for Barcelona whizzkid Gerard Deulofeu within the next 24 hours.
The Spanish champions have high hopes for the talented 19-year-old winger but want him to gain experience of playing in a more physical environment.
Liverpool, Tottenham and Arsenal have also shown interest but key for the player and Barcelona is Everton's Spanish manager Roberto Martinez and the prospect that he will gain valuable playing time.
Deulofeu is widely regarded as one of the most exciting prospects to come out of Barcelona's academy yet he also has the potential to be the most frustrating, having been described as 'a raw Cristiano Ronaldo', and Martinez will need all his coaching skills to hone the teenager for the English game.
Born near Girona, Catalonia, Deulofeu joined Barcelona's youth academy in 2003, aged just nine. He made his debut for the B team in 2011 while still registered with the juniors and a month later was called up to the senior squad for La Liga match against Real Sociedad.
