Wilfried Bony's agent has claimed Swansea have offered an improved package worth £13.7million for the Vitesse Arnhem striker - but insisted the Dutch club have still not sanctioned a deal.
The Swans thought they had a reached an agreement with Vitesse last week after tabling an offer worth £10.2m, but that bid was knocked back and now Bony's representative, Francis Kacou, revealed another big-money proposal has not yet been accepted.
Kacou, who also claimed Swansea's have been trailing the prolific Ivorian for six months, said: 'Why does it take so long? Six months ago, we made arrangements for a lump sum of 12 million (euros), regardless of goals.
'Swansea wanted to pay and Bony has seen that, but Vitesse wanted more. Now there is an offer of 14 million plus two million in bonuses.
'Why is Bony still in Arnhem? We do not know what they want.'
Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins confirmed to Sportsmail on Friday that an improved offer has been made for the 24-year-old, but it has not yet been accepted.
In an interview with Voetbal International, Kacou claimed to have had had contact with West Ham, Liverpool and Everton over the striker, who scored 31 goals in 30 games last season.
'West Ham United, Everton and Liverpool have been reported as having an interest, but Swansea has made the best offer. I want clarity, and a promise is a promise.
'One thing is for sure, he will not be playing for Vitesse this season.'
Jenkins hinted on Friday at his frustrations at the slow progress of the deal and indicated he might be forced to consider 'plan B', which would most likely be Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis.
