Barcelona starlet Cristian Tello has revealed that he turned down an offer from Liverpool in order to stay at the Camp Nou. The 22-year-old winger knows he is not first-choice with the Catalan giants, but claims he was never going to leave the club he first joined in 2002 and was delighted to sign a contract extension until 2018. "I always wanted to stay here," he confirmed. "The coach has confidence in me, I'm happy and ready to play." "I knew that Liverpool were interested in me, but I never thought about leaving," reiterated the Spaniard, who played 34 times in all competitions for Barca last season but now finds himself behind Alexis Sanchez, Neymar, Pedro Rodriguez and Ibrahim Afellay in the pecking order.
